What surprised me the most was the presence of a fitness trail, complete with equipment for various exercises.

En effet, le canal de Gairaut est en fait le canal de la Vésubie, qui prend sa source dans la Vallée de la Vésubie depuis Saint-Jean-la-Rivière. Cette magnifique chute a été fabriquée en 1883 afin de célébrer l'arrivée de l'eau courante à Nice.

A short and pleasant walk along the Vésubie canal at the heights of the city of Nice. You will take the Canal de Gairault path from Avenue de Rimiez. You will have beautiful views of Nice and the sea along the way. It is a route accessible to all, ideal for a short family outing to get some fresh air or to go jogging. It's possible to extend this walk to the Gairaut waterfall.

The Gairaut waterfall was constructed in the 19th century alongside a wooden alpine chalet to celebrate the completion of the Vésubie canal. Inspired by Austrian landscapes, the waterfall was built in 1883 when central European spas, like Baden Baden in Germany, were in vogue. They created a rustic artificial rock wall and a wide waterfall.
